1920s "JAPAN" SANTA CLAUS Papier-mache & Flannel 5.5"
This little vintage Santa is too
cute and in excellent all-original condition. His amiable molded
papier-mache mask face is painted a cheery pink with white bushy brows
& moustache and blue eyes. His beard is cotton batting over the red
flannel coat, which is trimmed in off-white chenille and a big black
oilcloth belt. A tingling brass bell hangs from the point of Santa's
hat and he carries a stuffed sack over his left shoulder. Blue cloth
pants are tucked into his black papier-mache boots. The 2.5" round
cardboard base and his feet are coated in white paint and clear
glitter to represent snow. There is slight wear on his cheeks, and
darkening from age, which just adds to the charm of this vintage
decoration! Stamped "Made In Japan" on the bottom, but he looks
German-made. Good luck and thank you for
