12" PapierMache/Wood BUNNY CANDY CONTAINER & CART c1900
Tinted pale pink for spring, and looking quite sprightly despite his being 100+ years old, Bunny pulls his wooden cart. There is some darkening from age & handling, but both bunny & cart are in near-mint condition with no damages and no repairs. The cart is stamped "Made In Germany" and Bunny's neck is stamped "Germany" inside the container. Bunny stands 7" tall, the cart is 6.25" long and together it is 12" long and 4.75" wide. The hollow papier-mache rabbit has a removable head, glass eyes and wooden legs. Wire loops through his middle permanently attach the bunny to the cart, which has working wooden wheels and room enough inside for a large chocolate egg and some excelsior-grass. The bunny actually has spray-painted details on each side for a change of effect: his left side has coral-pink to be playful & child-like, while the right side has silver on the body and gold on the head for a more staid, adult decor – just set his head turned to right or left and enjoy a different style!
