8" ALEXANDER-KIN BKW Doll & Fuchsia Costume Excellent
An adorable perfect face and zigzag-stitched brunette flip wig distinguish this Alexander-kin circa 1958 bent-knee walker, whose mechanism & knees work perfectly. There is some staining from the fuchsia taffeta on her arms and body, which always seems to happen with these 1950s taffetas in red shades. The gown doesn't show up in any of the books on Madame's dolls, but has square snaps and petticoat with net ruffles and matching pantaloons, both hemmed in cotton crochet-look lace. A lovely Alexander fuchsia rose with buds & leaves tops her perfect hair. Good black velvet-cloth side-snap shoes, and newer cotton knit socks complete her costume. Possibly home made.
