25" Ca.1937 Doll Craft Novelties Compo LONE RANGER
The actor Clayton Moore played "The Lone Ranger" on television from 1949-1952 and
1954-1957. As the most popular show, there is merchandising galore and this 25" doll with composition head, hands and feet, is a true TV classic. He's in near-mint condition. The black felt mask is a replacement and possibly his kerchief and probably his shirt. His head turns on the stuffed cloth body with floppy joints at shoulders and hips; feet are molded with oxford shoes and ribbed socks. Pants & chaps are sewn as one and he retains his belt and authentic-looking green suede holster with brass six-gun. An "H" is impressed on the holster. We've included a newspaper obituary on Clayton Moore from 1999. Composition is lifting behind his ears, which is typical of these later dolls. What a handsome mate for those frilly Boudoir Ladies!!
