9" STEIFF Mohair FOREVER FRIENDS Blue 23 #695/4000 NRFB
Made in 1996 "Exclusively For North America", this never-removed-from-box pair of 9" teal twin Original Teddies is #695 in a Limited Edition of 4000, and catalogue #665059. The bears are completely hand-made with the finest mohair, cream wool felt paw pads, hand-stitched perle cotton noses & mouths, shoe-button eyes, and swivel joints at neck, shoulders and hips. One bear is dark teal and sort-of frowny, the other is light teal, almost sky-blue, and smiling. Large gold "Steiff" buttons are in their ears with red-on-white ear tags, and "Steiff and You // Forever Friends // (Steiff logo)® // Knopf im Ohr" chest tags. The sturdy wardrobe-type box is fully marked and in mint condition with no crushes or paper damage. Their certificate of authenticity is still rolled and tied with cream grosgrain ribbon. This is really an adorable pair "Representative of the enduring bond between a Steiff Teddy Bear and its owner". Two soft & fuzzy handfuls!!
