9" Cut Crystal 1880s CANDLESTICK/VASE PAIR 24-PRISMS
There is a pontil underneath each of these antique candlestick/vases indicating the molten crystal was mouth-blown then hand-cut into these marvelous 1880s palm tree-like leafy bases. Twelve crystal 6" prisms depend from the outward-curving top of the candlesticks. The overall condition is excellent, complete with all of the originals and no replacement prisms. There are tiny chips on thirteen of the prisms (one does have a 1/2"x 3/8" flake off a top corner), but these will just add to the prism light show. The candlestick/vases measure 9" tall and 5" across, with 6" deep throats, which could hold a nosegay of flowers or different widths of candles (up to 6" candle circumference). There is sort of a mark on the botton of a circular C. The pontil on the bottom looks polished.
Very intricate detailed cutting to the glass. There may be a mark but, I haven’t seen it. These are so stunning that even non-lovers of fancy glass won't be able to resist.
