14” KESTNER CHARACTER BABY solid dome sleep eyes 1910
This adorable infant, in excellent condition, has a perfect bisque head – Kestner didn’t put mold numbers on dome-headed babies; this is the same face as the #211 wigged baby. Head incised: “J.D.K. // made in 12. Germany”. He has an open mouth with two bottom teeth, darker inside and at edges. Baby has palest brown painted hair, with molded curl on his forehead; the fat cheeks are blushed and rosy, brows are subtly flyaway, and the lashes are minutely painted all around the precious blue glass sleep eyes. Baby's correct Kestner sturdy bent limb baby body has the original peachy composition finish with arms bent at the elbow. Both legs are bent at the knee with the little feet turned out. Vintage doll clothes include a cotton knit undershirt and flannelette diaper. He's just too sweet to pass up!!
