8" RARE 1953 SLW Alexander LITTLE SOUTHERN BELLE #305
Fabulous and crispy mint, Little Southern Belle is #305 from 1953. This straight-leg walker, tagged "Alexander-kin", has been out of direct light displayed since her purchase in a shadowbox: never played-with and only handled to put in, and remove just now from the shadowbox. Her perfect little face has tan eyebrows to match her wig, lower painted lashes, rosy cheeks and pursed tiny red mouth. Absolutely perfect tosca dark blonde wig has bangs and untouched curls in a flip. The walking mechanism works perfectly and she has never been made to sit. Little Southern Belle is beautifully dressed in a crisp pale pink organdy 3/4-length dress with dainty lace on the bodice, insertion, faux tucks and deep lace hem on the skirt. A pink satin ribbon sash wraps her waist, and pink taffeta lace-hemmed petticoat and pantaloons are underneath. (There are four pinholes in the back of her petticoat from being wired to the shadowbox). The natural straw bonnet, turned up in back, frames her adorable face with pink satin ribbon ties, a cloth rosebud, curly feathers and velvet flowers. Fuzzy-sole white suedecloth side-snap shoes and rayon knit socks, never off her feet, complete the outfit. She's rare, plus in pristine condition!!
