22.5” PARIAN c1870 Fancy Hair Molded Blouse/Collar/Tie
The quality of workmanship on this lovely bisque Parian head is very fine. The young lady's shoulderhead is on her original cotton-stuffed body with shapely tan kid-leather arms and stitched fingers. The head measures 5.75" tall, 5" across the shoulders and 8.5" head circumference. Shoulders have an old repair from front right corner over left shoulder to back right corner, it barely shows with her lowered neckline to show off her fancy shoulderplate. Her gentle gaze has watery blue hand-painted eyes with highlights, red & black lid lines and long black brows over rosy cheeks and slightly smiling mouth. Deeply molded pale cafe-au-lait hair has poufed front waves into a low roll in back. A molded net covers the back of her head. The Garibaldi shirt bodice has a molded collar and blue striped ribbon tie, which are china-glazed with gold lustre details. Her body is stitch-jointed at shoulders, hips and knees, so she sits very well. The feet are realistically shaped and have stitched toes. The lady is wearing a lovely quite old two-piece fine cotton gown with lavender satin stripes. Pantalets and a hand-stitched chemise complete the costume.
