25" RARE Antique Clock Work Papier Mache Santa Claus
This 25 inch sought after large size papier mache Santa Claus Ca.
1900-1910 is in excellent condition with no damage and no repair. He
is from a non smoking home and has no problems. He has been in a
collection for many many years and has surfaced to find a new home. Ho
Ho Ho...... He is a nodder operated by a key that winds a clockwork
mechanism that sounds like a ticking of a clock. This mechanism is
contained in his torso in a tubular "carton" which is the structure of
the body. Santa has wire armature arms that go into papier mache
hands. His had is molded to hold a Christmas tree. Astrakhan (long
karakul fur of Russian origin) makes a perfect beard... Santa is
dressed in his own original clothes. He carries his own antique
feather tree and miniature hose on wheels. No repaint, no repairs, no
problems. A rare treasure. Made Circa 1900 to 1910 this is when
Saint Nicholas or Father Christmas changed to Jolly Old St. Nick then
to Santa Claus.
