22" Japanese Silk Crepe 1950s AMA & BABY All-Original
Seldom found in this large size,
this DARLING Japanese Ama is 22" tall including her bun, and Baby. The
set of silk crepe dolls is in near mint all-original condition. Both
dolls have stuffed silk crepe heads with hand-painted eyes, brows and
mouths – (nursemaid Ama's eyes are very Anime). A frill of wool yarn
makes their bangs (baby's are pink!), and Ama's hair & bun over
printed silk crepe bun wrap. Ama is stitch-jointed at shoulders &
hips, so she sits very well. The beanbag-like 8" baby is separate and
made of pink cotton with lace trim. Baby is tucked into Ama's printed
cotton jacket over her cotton crepe kimono with yellow obi sash. Her
original owner added a piece of pretty lace across the front. A long
pink slip is underneath + faux 2nd-kimono collar. The set is expertly
made & charming. Very clean unplayed with from a non smoking home.
