Antique HAT for French Bru, Jumeau Doll lace eyelet silk flowers
Victorian fabulous hat like you have NEVER SEEN
This is the most spectacular hat ever! Put it on a large French doll and she will look fabulous. The hat is milliner made on a wire frame. Layer upon layer of finely pleated pink silk gauze ruffles cover the inside brim. A luscious pink silk bow sets off the crown opening. The top of the hat and crown are covered with white cotton eyelet with a scalloped edge. The edge is trimmed with fine Val lace. More pleated pink silk gauze ruffles peek out from under the crown covering. I didn't even know they were there until writing this! A profusion of millinery flowers run around half the crown and a puffy pink silk bow accents one side of the outside brim. The crown opening is covered with pink silk and lined with silk which is melting. Otherwise the hat is in great condition with only a bit of age discolor especially to the lower back pink ruffles which hardly show when the hat is on a doll's head.
The hat is shown on a 33" doll which is not included in the sale. It would work on a doll taller than this, as it is meant to rest on the crown of the head. Wouldn't you love to see the dress that would have been worn with this hat?!
