5.25” PUDGY Nancy Ann Story Book BO PEEP #153-1941 MIB
Nancy Ann Story Book #153 in the
Storybook Series-Fairyland has the full name “Little Bo Peep Has Lost
Her Sheep”. Gold foil wrist tag: "153 Little Bo Peep", with
"Storybook Dolls Nancy Ann (in script)". This pudgy little darling is
marked “Story Book USA 11”. Made from 1941-42, the painted bisque has
jointed shoulders and hips (fine .25" crack in paint at back left
shoulder blade). Arms are pudgy with hands in two positions; feet have
painted slim black slip-on shoes. Her adorable face has beautiful
matte-finish perfect paint with no damage or repainting: eyes are
watery blue with very fine painted upper lashes, no brows, rosy
blushed cheeks and a tiny bow mouth. The mohair wig is golden blonde,
full and wavy under her pink felt bonnet trimmed in fuzzy flowers – a
tiny black-printed silver foil label tops the bonnet: "Nancy Ann
Dressed Dolls 100% Wool ". Bo Peep wears a crispy candy pink organdy
dress with matching floral panniers and wide lace sleeves. Underneath
are lace-hemmed organdy petticoat & pantaloons. She retains her
chenille shepherd's crook tied on with pale blue ribbon, and original
never removed two brass pins. Please see pg.183 for doll & pg.184 for

Robertson. The box is in ok condition, some water damage on the lid &
bottom that never touched the doll, with most of the correct silver
foil label. This tiny girl is absolutely darling & in once in a blue
moon condition. Very clean from a non smoking
home.
