RARE 22" Bahr & Proschild 2072 CHARACTER POUTY Pretty!!
Made circa 1920 by Bahr & Proschild for Bruno Schmidt, this adorable pouty character is very hard to find and has the look of a Gebruder Heubach pouty but is much more rare. Her perfect head is incised "B & P O (in crossed swords) // 2072 // 5", and she is in near-mint condition. Hand-painted features have feathered brows over painted lashes and blue spiral glass sleep eyes. Her plump cheeks are rosy and the open-closed mouth is two-tone with darker tongue-tip showing between the lips. The newer golden-blonde mohair wig is the perfect style for her sweet face, with bouncy tight curls all around and a big deep-red silk bow. Her body has the gorgeous original finish, jointed at neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees, with no repainting or repairs. Adorably dressed for a day on a yacht or in the park, her Mariner dress is trimmed in cream-colored braid. Underneath is a matching petticoat and pantalets in softest cotton with tucks and lace hems. Antique deep-red leather shoes with silky pompoms on the toes and knit socks complete her costume. What a charmer!!
