8.5" Ca.1870 FOLK ART Doll HAZELNUT-HEAD in Black Silk
A charming all original little lady, her head is a Hazelnut on a cloth-wrapped stick stump body with rolled cloth arms. She is in very good condition, especially for her age, which has to be 1870s or earlier. Her face and hair are inked on the nutshell, and a tiny finest-net bonnet covers her head. The doll itself is 6" tall - her black silk taffeta skirt makes the length 8.5" total. The net and taffeta are melting, but has a lined taffeta skirt underneath along with another piece of taffeta. Every stitch was sewn by hand, and she was obviously loved by a little someone.
