18.5” Gorgeous BISQUE-HIP STEINER & Trunk with Wardrobe
An elegant representation of
1870s French childhood, this gorgeous 18.5” Steiner is in excellent to
mint condition with working crier, original skin wig and perfect pale
& creamy bisque solid dome swivel neck shoulderhead, ¾ arms, lower
torso/hip area and lower legs – she has all of her fingers & toes,
there are no damages or repairs. She comes with her antique wicker
trunk and wardrobe of wonderful antique clothing. Her watery blue eyes
gaze with delight under long feathered brows and mauve shadow. Her big
rosy cheeks and smiling open mouth with two rows of tiny teeth make
her irresistible. Dressed for a party, she arrives wearing a vintage
confection made up of point
d'esprit net and
Val lace with pink silk ribbon trim
over a pink cotton lining. Luxury multi-colored floral-embroidered
silk ribbon trims the dress and embellishes the matching high-brimmed
French bonnet. She wears antique cotton drawers and petticoat, cotton
socks and high button shoes with buckle trim, and her original blue
glass earrings. Her elegant wicker baby basket trunk has wooden wheels
on swivels and measures 24.75” wide, 13.75” tall including wheels, and
14.25” front to back at the top. The interior tray is 3.25” deep
leaving the bottom hold at 6.5” deep – plenty of room for a matching
padded bottom liner and pillow, the doll and all of her belongings.
The basket lid is fitted with padded silk covered in point
d'esprit net and trimmed with ruffled
lace, ribbon-run lace beading, blue silk
tufting and large silk bows, the basket tray is lined and
trimmed to match. The antique wardrobe in her trunk includes twenty
pieces of clothing, plus socks, shoes and a wooden pacifier with silk
ribbon! White cotton petticoat, a
chemise, and wool petticoat. Rose wool double cape outlined
