10” Gebr. Heubach c1910 CHARACTER #7644 LAUGHING BOY
What a cheerful little guy this is! His perfect character shoulderhead is a solid dome with molded palest brown hair, dark blue intaglio eyes and laughing open/closed mouth with molded tongue-tip. Arched brows and rosy plump cheeks enhance his jolly expression. Fully marked on back of head: “2/0 D // HEUBACH (square mark) // 7644 // Germany” plus an upside-down "6" and (smeared) stamped green number. The original scrim-cloth body is floppy-jointed at shoulders, stitch-jointed at hips with wires inside for posing or sitting, and composition lower limbs. There is no damage, and only the upper cloth arms have been recovered. He's finely dressed for one so small, in his charming mariner outfit made from a gentleman's vintage hankie. One-piece ribbed cotton knit union suit and socks, plus fabulous maroon leather oxford shoes with brass grommets and grosgrain ties complete his costume. In this tiny size he’ll fit in the arms of a big doll or display with some larger character siblings!!
