9”-1890s LOW BROW CHINA Germany Original Body 2 Outfits
Here's a charming little
1890s low brow china shoulderhead in excellent to mint condition, on
her original body. The back of the shoulder is incised: "Germany". She
has perfect painted black hair & brows, light blue eyes with black lid
lines & pupils, rosy cheeks and tiny red mouth. The original well-made
sawdust-stuffed cloth body has floppy shoulder & stitched hip joints
with stone bisque lower limbs; feet are heeled brown-glazed ankle
boots. She has two finely made calico dresses, probably made for her
in the 1940s, with lace & soutache trimming collars, sleeves and hems:
a one-piece prairie dress in light blue that matches her eyes, the
other is a three-piece of print & plain rust calico with a fitted
jacket, overskirt and underskirt. There are two full-length slips, a
bustle, and pantaloons. Two straw bonnets complete her outfits. She's
a sweet little lady who will be adorable sitting in a miniature rocker
or on a shelf with her trousseau!
