15" c1943-50 RARE Lenci PINOCCHIO Round Silver Tag
This Never seen before adorable
fellow represents Pinocchio as Disney interpreted him in the animated
film that came out in 1940 where Pinocchio is dressed in shorts & cap.
Lenci's Pinocchio is all-original & in excellent condition. Tags:
skinny woven ribbon "Lenci Torino" and the round silver foil "Lenci //
Torino // Made In Italy". Hand-written on back of tag: "LW 112".
Pinocchio has a beautifully hand-painted composition head with huge
blue eyes, fine lashes & brows, subtly blushed cheeks and wide smiling
open/closed mouth. His nose measures 1.5" long! Pinocchio has big felt
ears and darling black felt wig. The body is all wood and jointed at
neck, shoulders, wrists, hips and ankles, with stuffed felt Mickey
Mouse type hands. (There is a one-inch split in the paint below his
left ear). This doesn’t really show or detract from this handsome
original Lenci. He is dressed in his original wool felt: blue bow tie,
black vest with yellow edgings, darling red suspender shorts with
yellow side details, yellow hat with blue hatband and of course his
adorable red feather. A white linen shirt with a large rounded collar
finishes his outfit. Pinocchio carries a strap with his original two
wooden books in his left hand, one green one red and a wooden apple
in the right hand. He's off to school!! Too Cute !! Extremely clean
and unplayed with. No fading, No problems, from a NON smoking home.
