6 German Bisque Automaton Mechanical Dancing Dolls Toy
Here’s a charming antique Zinher & Sohn Circa 1890 German music box mechanical toy in excellent all-original condition with German bisque-headed children dancing at a costume party. The box measures 11.5” wide x 9.5” deep x 9.25” high, with six twirling 4.75” tall children that turn gracefully completely around while music plays. The tinkling tuneful music box works with a crank at right front side. All of the bisque heads have blue glass eyes, painted lashes, single-stroke brows, rosy cheeks and closed mouths, with curly white mohair wigs. The children wear colorful European costumes by pairs: Bavarian, Venetian, and Portuguese, clothed in cottons and velvet, trimmed in silk and dainty lace. Bodies, arms and legs are composition with heeled double-strap black shoes. The three pairs of little children twirl and circle the three-sided room as the music plays. Wallpaper is printed with birds on flowered branches, and gold paper decorations hold up crepe paper bunting. The floor and base have lithographed papers: peach & green tile for the floor, and wood-grain for the base. A captivating and entertaining antique toy!!
