8" RARE Alexander BKW CHARITY AMERICANA #485-1961
Madame Alexander's rare four-doll series, bend-knee walkers made only in 1961, includes "Charity Americana". She is in near-mint condition and has never been played-with or undressed. Tagged "Americana”, she has fluttery blue sleep eyes, molded upper lashes, hand painted brows and lower lashes, rosy cheeks and dainty bow mouth to enhance her bisque-like finish. The blonde wig has the original braids tied with red satin bows. Charity's aqua-blue dress has a 3/4-length ruffled skirt, jumper-effect bodice with cap sleeves over attached organdy bodice and 3/4-sleeves edged in dainty lace and red rickrack. The fine natural straw bonnet has a wide red & white striped band around the crown; elastic chinstrap is slightly loose. Scalloped lace hems the cotton petticoat with red ribbon beading and the lace-hemmed fine cotton pantalets have red satin bows. Black suede-cloth side-snap shoes and red & white striped cotton knit stockings complete the outfit. Charity is such a treasure!! Please see our web page for her two sisters!
