1920s Felt COMIC MOUSE CHARACTER Mickey-look 18"
Here's a very interesting
Mickey-like Mouse character in excellent all-original condition. He's
made of wool felt from his large head to big feet - the head
circumference is 14" and his feet are 5.5" long! There are no maker's
marks anywhere on him – definitely not Lenci but he may be French-,
Italian- or Brazilian-made (closely resembles the work of A. Zuloaga
of Caracas, Venezuela). Wherever from, he's very finely put together,
with every stitch by hand, and firmly stuffed. All parts are stitched
together: head, hands, attached shorts and shoes are black felt, his
face is off-white with a black nose and red mouth, shirt & legs are
rich squash-orange. His skinny black felt tail is 3" long with a knot
near the top. A muted green tie, off-white buttons and grey collar
finish the costume. Quite possibly one-of-a-kind,
this charming critter won't show up again soon!!!
