12.5" Antique Tin TOY CHINESE RICKSHAW Original + Dolls
Wonderfully authentic and all-original, this tin, wire and wood Rickshaw is in excellent condition and all-original including the 'driver' and his Mandarin lady passenger. Measurements: 12.5" long, 9" tall and 5" wide; the driver is 10" tall and his passenger is 6" sitting. The cloth roof raises and lowers (tied into raised position), the rubber wheels on tin rims roll, a gilded lantern dangles at each side, and the pulling poles are removable. The fabrics inside the chair are also original with linen lining the seat trimmed in pink & white scalloped braids, a silky back pillow and cushion with floral appliqué. The floor under the lady's feet has carpet-look fabric. Both dolls have composition heads and lower limbs with painted shoes and socks, the man's cap, lady's hair & headband, and their faces are painted (her features are pale). Her long dress is silky rayon; his clothing is cotton. This interesting and historical piece would be fabulous on a mantle or side table!
