c1900 Talking JUMEAU BEBE French Bisque Open Mouth 25"
Here's a beautiful Jumeau Bebe
with perfect bisque head and jointed composition and wood body with
original cork pate and pull-string voice box. She is in excellent
condition. Head incised: "11" with hand-painted "7". Pierced ears;
body not marked - she doesn't talk but could probably be repaired.
Long painted brows, finest painted lashes, big blue spiral glass eyes
big blushed cheeks and smiling open mouth with porcelain upper teeth.
The auburn wig is mohair in long curls under a lovely Broiderie
Anglaise bonnet. Her body, jointed at neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists,
hips and knees, has the original peachy-pink finish. What better for a
French Bebe than this gorgeous frothy white batiste dress,
extravagantly trimmed with tucks and lace, sashed with silk damask
ribbon. Underneath is a cotton slip, petticoat and pantalets, all
hemmed in lace. Cotton knit socks and leather lace-up shoes complete
her costume.
