7.5" Heubach Bisque Candy Container BUNNY CHILD & EGG
A most adorable tiny child, this
little 7.5" guy is dressed in a molded bunny suit with long laid-back
ears, leaning on a big open egg container for jellybeans, malted milk
eggs, odds & ends or a small nosegay of flowers. The egg is stamped on
the bottom: "ERPHILA // Germany" with an impressed mark that is 2
lines in a square HEUBACH Erphila is derived from the “E” Ebling The
“R” Reuss and “PHILA” from Philadelphia. They were importers of the
time. We will try to show this in the photo. Pale green silk antique
ribbons are threaded through the corners of his pants. Bunny's face
has hand-painted features: blue left-glancing eyes with black lid
lines, soft brown brows & curl of hair on forehead, big rosy cheeks
and coral open/closed mouth. The face, arms and legs are blushed, his
suit, hood with ears and shoes are unglazed white porcelain. There is
factory grey speckling and palest pink detailing the ears, and factory
grey speckling around the shoes as though Bunny has walked through
some soil. The egg, molded to the back of his hiney & thighs, measures
4.5" long, 2.5" front to back and 2.25" deep so it will hold any
number of tiny items. (His right pinkie finger has been rebuilt). Too
cute and very useful!!!
