20" COD #93-4/0 DEP c1893 Bisque TWINS Factory Original
Darling all-original brown-eyed Cuno & Otto Dressel twins, the blonde in palest green while her brunette sister wears palest pink, are in excellent condition. Their perfect bisque shoulderheads are incised "C. O. D. 93-4/0 DEP.", on their original kid bodies. Made by Armand Marseille for Cuno & Otto Dressel in 1893 (mold number is partial date), the incised marks are low on the back shoulders under the scallop-edged leather. Finest painted lashes surround gorgeous paperweight set eyes, under glazed long brows. They have plump rosy cheeks and almost-smiling open mouths with tiny porcelain upper teeth. Firmly stuffed and amazingly clean, the bodies have floppy shoulder joints, pin-jointed hips and gussetted knees. There is no sawdust leaking or patches. Lower bisque arms are rough-molded (blonde missing tips of three right fingers & left thumb, brunette missing tip of right thumb). Mohair wigs are in the original cropped style with silk satin ribbon headbands to match their dress sashes. Dresses are wool challis with lovely ruffled lace collars and cuffs, and all of their lace-hemmed cotton underwear matches, too!
