Miniature c1910 GERMAN 8-Pc SET STEINS, JUG, TREEN TRAY
Exquisite miniature German stoneware steins and serving jug with working pewter hinged lids, and a sturdy turned wood (treen) footed tray comprise the eight pieces of this fascinating set. Dated 1910 by the original owner, the jug & steins have pressed designs on the sides – five steins have green backgrounds and one muted red, while the serving jug has both colors. The set is in mint condition with no damage (the jug lid is only 2/3s attached, but it looks like a factory miscalculation). A glass dome could be found to cover the set as the tray has an indented outer rim. Measurements: Jug - 3" tall, 1.5" across with handle and 3.5" circumference; Steins – 1 3/8" tall, 1" across with handle and 2.5" circ; Tray - .5" high, 4.5" across and 14.25" circumference. Surely a rare antique set!!
