8.5” Ca.1850 German Kister COVERED WAGON CHINA pink
This beautiful tiny Covered Wagon
china is in excellent condition with subtle pink tinting from her
forehead to the edges of her shoulder plate. There is no damage and no
repairs. Her black painted hair has sausage curls around, with minimal
rubs at the back. Sweet blue eyes have red & black lid lines and
single-stroke low brows. There is a sweet smile to her painted mouth,
and big rosy cheeks. The shoulder plate is deep, with two sew holes
front and back. The original sturdy well-stuffed muslin body is stitch
jointed at shoulders, hips and knees with shapely pink-tint lower
bisque arms, and china legs with molded painted ankle-boots. The
charming antique silk damask gown is self-bound with trim of ruching
and peachy tan bows. Underwear consists of petticoat hemmed in lace
and drawers with entre deu and eyelet hems. She’s wonderful and very
choice, an early china that needs a parlor to preside in!
